hi i want to learn how to play drums pertty good (obviouslly will take some years to get really good) but drum kits are so expensive any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can get a decent drum set for about $250 so some saving could get you a good starter kit!. While you save you can buy a cheap practice pad, sticks, and some good books to learn rhythms and just basic rudiments!. There are plenty of "how to" books that come with tapes or dvds so even if you don;t have a set you can see how it's played, air drum, and play on your practice pad!.
All of that shouldn't cost more than $25 and if you practice everyday you should get your moneys worth when you buy a drum set!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, lessons!. They will have the equipment, but you will have to pay to use them, as well as learning how to use them!.

Something you could try doing is just selling alot of stuff that you don't use to get something!. Even if it's not a brand new PEARL drum set or Zildjian!.!.!.!.!.!.!. start with crap and work your way up!. You might wind up HATING it and you will be stuck with an expensive mistake!.!

also, you can check on your local craigslist, someone near you might be selling one cheap!

okay this is gonna sound crazy but his is how i learned!. I bought a pair of drum sticks got my garbage can bought a book and sticked the music until i could afford an actually drum set!. It taught me how to do the beats, the down side was that i had to learn how to use all of the different drums on the set!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get a pair of drumsticks and a practice pad (a hard rubber pad mounted on a wood base)!. You'll be able to practice your basic drumming rudiments -- AND you'll be able to practice silently so you won't drive your family crazy :-) Www@QuestionHome@Com
