Question: Are these electric guitars a good deal for a beginner!?
Here are the 2 guitars and their links:http://www!.rondomusic!.com/sstftowlleft!.h!.!.!.

They look good for their price (only $140 and $130)!. I'm thinking of buying one of them as my first guitar!. I've never played before!. What's the difference(s) between the two!? I noticed that one of them has a whammy bar, and it also has 2 single coil pickups and 1 humbucker pickup!. How does that work!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

They don't "look" all that bad!. I notice that they are lefty guitars!.

Guitar center has a few lefty guitars that are fairly reasonable in price!. there is a squier Strat for 150 and an epiphone les paul for 184!.

Which are basically the same as the ones you are looking at!.
Except the SST has the humbucker and a floyd rose tremolo which is much better than the squier tremolo system!.

There is a pickup switch that allow you to choose which pickups to use you can choose each singly or combine the hembucker and the middle one or the middle one and the other single coil!. It gives you many different tones!.
Humbuckers don't have any hum you can hear when amplified!. Single coils have a little hum when you aren't touching the strings!.

The SST looks like it is pretty nice for a cheap guitar!. I like Strats myself!.
The Les paul has two humbuckers so you won't get any hum, and both pickups can give you a little more distortion!. The SST has one good distortion pickup at the bridge location, which is the most common one used for hard rock!.
the Les paul is a little harder to play the high frets on because of the single cutaway design!.

I'd give the SST a shot!. Once you get it, take it in to a guitar store to be setup properly so the string action will be the best it can be!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

For a first guitar you need one that will stay in tune!. Both of these are cheap guitars that I know little about but of the two I would pick the sst!. It is a little less flashy and a little more expensive which may indicate more attention to practical quality!. The only thing I like about the douglas is the extra fret!.
If you are interested, yamaha and fender make good low end guitars that are great for a beginner!. Check out fenders squire line!. They cost very little more than the two shown here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would say that you should try the douglas!.!.!.!. I don't know much about them but the douglas seems to be built more like the gibson les paul!. If it is running dual hummbuckers that will be good for you not having the listen to noise and being able to focus more on the music!. It would be better in the long run for you than the sst!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They look pretty good for a beginner!. Nothing is really different between them!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
