How does it feel to sing with a microphone?

Question: How does it feel to sing with a microphone!?

I've talked on a microphone and it's kinda scary :P I mean when i hear my voice louder i think that my voice is really weird and it's kinda weird to hear just your voice!.That's why i am always nervous when i'm supposed to talk somewhere!. But does singing with a microphone feels the same!?!?!? Thanks :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You'll LOVE singing into a mic!. And you'll find that good mic technique really shapes your sound!. Look at this video of Aretha Franklin!. When she sings low notes, or quiet notes, she sings directly into the mic, and when she sings high notes or loud notes, she sings away from the mic!. This actually makes her singing sound better than it would without a mic, because the human ear hears high notes more easily than low notes!.

Many microphones are set up to account for this issue, it's called Compression!. The louds and the quiets are evened out, and you get a very produced sound!. Some mics, like those used by radio hosts are super bassy, and you have this feeling that they know what they're talking about and assume they're cool!. Reverb has a similar effect!.
