Question: What is more beneficial!.!.a Bachelor's in Music (Vocal Performance) or Theatre (Acting)!?

I have a passion for both and cannot decide!. I was thinking about majoring in Theatre and just getting a minor in music and taking vocal lessons on the side, but I really couldn't get a job in the music field then!. Or I might concentrate in Musical Theatre!.!.!.!.but I would have to start learning dance from scratch!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To be completely honest, a performance degree is a bit useless!. Anything you would do with the degree you can do without if you are good enough, the degree only boosts your experience if you want to be a performer!. If you want to be smart and have a back up plan I would get a degree in either music or theater education or you can do a double major, since most of the education courses will be the same!. I major in music education and minor in musical theatre performance!. and have seen many with performance degrees come back to get their ed, because they can't get steady jobs as performers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would have to say major in music!.!.!. because you will have that experience to start anywhere playing an instrument and singing in a band from there or, if anything becoming a music teacher if you had to fall back on that!. acting right now is hard to get into!.
