No special schooling to become an agent!. If you have a product, you r market it and you get the credit!. For example, my canadian friend Celine Dion was 12 yrs old when she met her Renee!. The guy had nothing but a hhouse which he mortgage so she could record her first single!. He used to sell her CD's door-to-door!.
Long story short, she became famous and he came into the limelight whether you like or not!.
The old dude, was approached by others who ask him to be their agent!. and, those he chose, he recorded them!.

Most agents have some experience in the business, either as performers or as soundboard ops or similar!. There is no single career path; your best bet at the outset would be to offer to manage some up-and-coming bands; your job will be to book lots of good gigs for them and ensure they get paid!. The most important thing is to know where the gigs are--you'll need to be on good terms with all the club owners, the city's recreation commission, and anyone who sponsors festivals or special events where your people might work!.
