Debussy wrote a lot of songs for mezzo/alto but they're in French!.
Mahler, Wolf, Brahms, Schubert and Schumann wrote a lot of songs for low voices but they're in German!.
If you want to sing English you're pretty much stuck with Handel, Purcell or Britten, although you might get by with Ralph Vaughn Williams!.
For Italian Handel is your best bet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i'm also an alto and did a song called "Se Tu Mami, Se Sospiri" and i did it in the lower key, it is in italian!.
I am also working on a song called "lachatemi" but it is a bit high, it is also in italian
