Question: I think im obsessed!?!?!? Question for actors/ people involved in the performing arts!.!?
Right, im 14 and didnt have the option to take a drama GCSE!. I dont do to ny acting clubs or anything, although i cma trying to get into a Youth Theatre but it is proving to be a very long process as im on the end of an extravagently long waiting list!. Anyway, all i can think about is acting!. Everybody at home just thinks im a shy little girl, but inside, i know i can act well!. I keep watching clips of Meryl Streep and other great actresses on youtubs, and it is the only career i can see myself doing!. I'm not meaning to sound big headed although i probably do, but im quite intelligent at school so everybody is expecting me to be a lawyer or something like that!. Acting is the only thing close to my heart!. Am i just being obsessive!? Because i know its every girls dream to be an actress, but im determind, and know i can do it if i want!.!.!.!.just how do i become an actress though!? Help please :) Thanks in advance :)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Join or form a drama club after school!. Talk to the drama teacher!. Volunteer for the pantomime!. If you have to start backstage, even better as you'll have an understanding of how things work back there and what can and can't be done!.

Go to the library and check out how-to acting books, plays, etc!. and read them (2 a week is a good average to aim for)!. Study those video clips and make notes--what is the actress doing with her hands!? her ears!? her feet!? at each point in the scene, and why!? Make detailed notes!.

Study history as hard as you can!. You'll need to get a feel for the manners, mores, and culture of every era!. Read those Austen and Dickens novels and make notes on clothing, when you can and can't pass notes and to whom you can pass them, how to act at dinner parties, and act out those roles until you can get them perfectly!.

Find a qualified voice teacher!. To act, you need to be in conscious control of every nuance of your voice, at every moment!. You also need to be able to talk for hours without straining your voice!. If finances are a problem, explain this to your teacher and ask them to help you find a way to take lessons with them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
