Question: Don't you love film music!? Are there many opportunities to play in the orchestras for making them!?
It's usually so good, really hits you!. Like pop music doesn't use many instruments, classical music is alright!. But film music creates such an amazing atmosphere and conjures up feelings and emotions!. Like the Sweeney Todd soundtrack is amazing! So is the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Pan's Labyrinth!.

I'm 13 and play the flute, I'm ok at it, after concerts people have asked whether I have a gold headjoint because apparently I have good tone!. I don't though, I just have a regular silver plated second hand jupiter!. It's only my first instrument, I'm grade 3 and have played for a year!. (9 months, two year gap, 3 months) I love it though and practise for ages everyday!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you get accepted in a good orchestra and make connections with musicians that often work in film you might get a job there!.

But it is a narrow goal for a musician -particularly a flute player- to want to work exclusively for film, you will probably perform in various occasions and maybe some of them are in film!.

The music field is very competitive so unless you excel you will be grateful to find any kind of work!. (most music players I know make their living teaching and not performing) Www@QuestionHome@Com

Listen to Elmer Bernstein he wrote, in my opinion the best film scores ever!. Give yourself a few more years then check out the opportunities, unless you are Very good! Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
