just from experience, my brother that has been playing a 'tar for over 20 years, hated his $1200 les paul and resold it!. his advice is to go and play the instrument that you are interested in, take it for a test drive as he puts it and see, feel, hear how it would be a good choice for you, because having a good instrument is just about as personal as underwear!. It's very difficult to access the higher frets on the Les Paul, what type of guitar you want depends on what you want it to sound like!. There are lots of good guitars out there, you need to know how you want it to sound, and you need to know your price range!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
