Question: How can I get really good at the guitar really fast!?

I have 2 guitars and I really want to learn how to play them well!.

I have not played in a long time, but learn the basic chords first!. E, C, G, D, I think!. Learn the lingo, and read up on them!. Learn to read music or tabs as well!.

As far as playing goes, think of your mind as a computer and your hands as programs, keep doing the scales and patterns over and over again and again and your hands will become almost programmed, to follow a path as it has practiced!. I learned this when learning the blues scale!.

Keep at it, and use your fret hand alot, you need to develop callouses or those strings will tear you apart!. I found it easier to learn on an acoustic, because on electric there is too much distortion and the line in which talent and mechanics change is blurred!.

Take lessons from a qualified teacher and practice, practice, practice!.

A good teacher will teach you not only how to play but how to read and understand music so that you can create your own music and play what you want!. Consistent daily practice habits will develop the necessary muscle memory that you need to develop speed and fluency!.

You may learn a few chords and be able to play a few simple songs in a couple of months, but getting REALLY good on guitar -- being able to play whatever you want -- takes years of practice and study!.

You cannot learn to play the guitar really fast, the best way is practice!. You don't need to practice everyday, but try "smoke on the water" until your fingers are numb, just to get a feel for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
