18 definitely isn't too late to start learning a new instrument!. I know people in their 50s and up who have just started learning! Learning the piano isn't incredibly hard depending on how hard you work at it!. It's one thing to bang out a few simple tunes and another thing to actually play well enough to perform and to play whatever you want!.

Assuming you already have a sense of rhythm and time because of your background with the drums, some of the basic learning is already done! I think that as long as you work hard at it, have a true interest in it, stay positive and passionate, then you'll definitely pick it up well!

Have fun and good luck! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, not at all!.
I mean!.!.!. I guess it'd be hard for some people, but it's actually VERY easy for me!. I'm a percussionist so I had to learn piano along with the keyboards (marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, bells, etc!.)!. I have to take a piano class right now for my Music Major degree and I have noticed that it is very difficult for some people!. I don't know if they just don't practice or what, but they're not doing too well in the class!. I know when you start putting both hands together playing different things is when a lot of people start messing up!. It's very easy for me though since I'm a percussionist and I have to play my hands differently a lot!.
I like playing the piano!.!.!. if you want to learn, go ahead!. It's never too late!. =)
Oh yeah, and as far as how long does it take to get the hang of it!.!.!. it's different for everyone!. It didn't take me long at all to get the hang of it, but there's still a lot of people in my class that are struggling!. It just depends on how well you can read music (bass and treble!.!. you play bass with your left hand and treble with your right) and how good you are at rhythm and making your hands do different things!. You also have the pedal as well which isn't hard for me either since I play drumset!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
