I play both!. But I started on the violin first!. With the violin, if you are in an orchestra, then you are usually playing the melody, or the second violin!. With the cello, in an orchestra, you usually always play harmony!.

Now, if you play the trumpet, (which I also do) that tells me that you aren't scared to be the center of attention!. So probably, you would prefer the violin!.!.!.since it normally is the melody!.

Now, if you are only into soloing the instrument, then I have to say that the cello, to me, sounds much better as a solo instrument!. It gives more depth to the music and is more!.!.!.rich!.

Like I said, I started out playing the violin and learned all the "string" basics from there!. But when I started playing the cello I fell in love with it!.

It's up to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The violin and the cello are the most popular string instruments (with the exception of the piano if you count that as a string instrument), but at the moment, the viola is getting more and more popular, as violinists are wanting to expand their interests to different types of instruments!.

It really depends on your preference though!. If you are a bit brash, you should go with the viola, which gives a very nice and mellow mid tone and requires lots of strength to play!. However, if you're delicate and nimble with your fingers, you can check out the violin, but keep in mind that some people can't stand the fact that there's sound right next to their ear and high pitches!. As for the cello, you really need some finger strength, but there's also the double-bass as well, in which you can join jazz bands and orchestral ensembles!.

Being a little biased, I play the violin, which I love immensely because I love the tone and the sound of it, as well as the large range of music!. However, there are too many violinists out there in the world, and there are so few violists, bassists, and even cellists now!. So you can keep that in mind as well!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have played the Violin for 6 years!. I started when I was in like fourth grade!. I love playing the violin!. It is a beautiful instrument!. But the cello is a bit easier to play!. When you shift and do vibrato!. It is so much easier, since you are sitting down!. I guess it depends on what type of instrument you enjoy!. A low pitch or a high pitch!. Violin is high pitch and cello is low pitch!. But whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll have fun!. Enjoy!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Personally i'd say go with something like a double bass or maybe a viola, just thought i'd throw some ideas in!. I'd have to say both sound good either way but violin does kill the arm quicker than playing the celloWww@QuestionHome@Com

violin!!! you might like it after playing the piano!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
