1) Music teaches you math -- time signatures, note lengths, etc!.
2) Music is a language -- you need to learn the notes and how to play them on your instrument (or how to sing them)!. Sometimes you have to learn to transpose (or translate) the notes to another key for another instrument
3) Music teaches patience and determination as both are required to learn and play music!.
4) Music teaches us other cultures and to respect them!. We learn about various music styles and their origin and what they mean to the countries that they originated in!
5) Music teaches us history!.!.!.the music and instruments of the past!
