Question: Learning to play the Piano by yourself!?
I really want to learn to play the piano, but I'm a bit anti-social!. Is it possible to learn by myself!? I know thay make keyboards that light up so you know which keys to play, but does that actually teach you anything!?
Do they have dvd's to teach you or the best option, a videogame!? :)
Any suggestions for me!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is possible to learn without a teacher!.
I started with buying a beginner book just to explain the basics of how to read the treble and bass staves!. Once you know where the notes are on instinct it gets easier becuase you dont have to keep looking down!.

The lights dont really teach you anything except maybe how to move your hand around easily!.

Youtube have videos which you can check out!. There's also free music sheets online but they come in to play later once you've mastered the basics!.

Learn how to read the treble stave (top lines, play with right hand) and the bass stave individually then slowly integrate!.

It takes patience but it can be done =) Good Luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes there are people selling and giving away free instruction!. You get what you pay for!.
What ever you decide, get some instruction from a live person paid or free, but where they can see and hear your progress!. That is the only way that mistakes are going to be caught early before they become serious or discouraging problems!. The use of web sites is a bonus, but not the way improve your skills and definitely not the way to begin!.!.
Remember that you might be able to teach yourself how to fly an airplane, but who is going to flay with you!? You might be able to teach yourself piano, but mistakes, may turn into a lousy piano player!.
To learn some things you need a teacher!.

I learned how to play the guitar by myself, the way I learned is by watching a lot of instructional videos on youtube!. I'm sure there are videos like that for the piano and keyboard too!.

But you should probably think about getting a teacher, I know I'm kind of contradicting myself here, but if I could find a good teacher, I would definitely go for it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
