I play trombone too and I totally know how you feel! Practicing is one of the least fun things to do!.

A suggestion would be maybe find some books that have songs you like and when you practice, start out with the boring stuff like long tones and scales and then at the end of practicing treat yourself to some songs you like playing from the book!. It'll give you something to look forward to when practicing!.

also like someone else suggested, listen to some really good trombone players for inspiration!. Just know if you keep practicing hard eventually you can play like that!.

Anyway hope this gives you an idea! Www@QuestionHome@Com

listen to some good trombone players to get inspired!. You have to really have the love to want to practice!. If you put in the time you'll start to see results, and when you start to see yourself progressing you'll want to get better and get a deeper love of music in general!.
hey maybe you can join a silly band will your friends just for fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't play trombone, but I know that when I don't want to practice and I should, I just think about how I would much rather give up some free time now, then be terrible later when it matters!. also, I print out free sheetmusic to play just for fun, sort of like a reward!. If you wanted, you could listen to some songs with trombone in it!. That always inspires me!.

Happy practicing!

Get some music that you really like!. There are many books out there for solo trombone with music from movies, tv, and Broadway!. Some come with CDs that you can play along with!. Just do an internet search for "trombone solos!." Or go to your local music store!.
You can check out the website below too!. It's a group I play in and it is all trombones! We have all ages show up every week!.

Put aside the sheet music!. Play along (by ear) with your favorite songs!. You'll appreciate just playing for fun then ! The side benefit is that you'll learn your instrument without all that much effort!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Develop an intimate relationship with it!. Make it feel wanted and needed!. It will return the favor ten-fold!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
