Question: How do you know when to play a black key on the piano/keyboard!?

On the left hand side of the staff (5 lines), there will either be a flat (b) or a sharp (#) sign!. In the beginning of piano lessons you will probably only have to ever play a Bb or an F#!.

Sometimes on the staff, there are those same symbols in FRONT of the note!. That is also an indication to play a black note!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Whenever you see a sharp sign (#) or flat sign ("b") next to a note, then you play it!.
However, if you see a sharp, then you have to play the black key on the right of the note with the sharp!.
And if you see a flat, then you have to play the black key on the left of the note with the flat!.
