Question: Acoustic Guitars!.!.!.all the help you can give!?
Hi,
The thing is, I'm seventeen years old, never touched a music instrument nor do I know a thing about music sheets or chords or anything that has to do with the technicality of music!.!.!.Yet I want to learn to play the acoustic guitar!.!.!.and!.!.I want to do it by my own!.!.(well my parents aren't supportive at all in this area (they think I am wasting my time) and hence I can't go for music lessons + I don't know a single person who knows anything about guitars)

Anyways, the only place I could find that sells guitars in my area is a yamaha store and they recommended that I either buy the C40 model or the C70!. Here's where you come in!.!.!.are they any good!? Plus should I buy one of them or should I go for a higher quality one!? (note that my limit for a beginner's guitar is about 400-500 $)

In addition, did you come across any websites that you found really helpful!? You know; a place where I could at least learn the basics and such for free!? I should add that its really much better if there's a site which offers videos as well as text!.!.

Its really just a question for anyone who has any tips, guides!.!.!.etc in this area!. Anything you could share would be of great help!.

Thanks in advance for your input :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

When your at the store try them out and see if they're any good!. What i consider a good guitar could be different from your opinion!.

for a good site i would go to ultimate-guitar!.com for tabs!. If you look for "power tabs" you will get tabs (tells you the fret# and string of all the notes) that also show you the rhythm, notes on the staff and chord names!.

also i find that some really good songs for beginners are acoustic songs that are popular now like Hey there delilah or BublyWww@QuestionHome@Com

if you can spend the $500 you should end up with a nice guitar, however Yamaha wouldn't be my first pick, Ibanez or Takamine would be a little more at the top of my list in that price range, but probably would buy a Seagull in the end, the link above will link to musicians friend also, but if you buy from them, (good prices!) take it to a shop for set up, usually runs from $40 to $70 bucks and worth every penny, as online guitars usually need a tweak or two and a nice set of strings, go for the Elixir nanowebs, a bit spendie as strings go but also worth every penny!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
