Question: Any tips for a first time rehearsal with a band!?
I'm a Christian/Gospel singer and Saturday will be my first time EVER singing with a band and singers!. I want to sound really good!. I remember the last time I sang on stage, I could barely hear myself!. How can I make this better!? Should I sing louder!?

Any tips you have would be great!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you got this position through audition, they must have seen/heard something in you they wanted!. Keep that in mind!.

If they are an experienced band they will not expect the first rehearsal to go great, it may not even go mediocre!.

To assure yourself of not wasting your own time the band should be willing to rehearse, practice apart from the group, and also willing to work with each other!. Everyone is important!.

In the real world of performance, A GREAT DEAL of work goes into the preparation of just one single song to be ready to take to the stage! After that it may take two or three opportunities actually performing it before you fall into any groove where you feel comfortable with the song and each other's performance!.

As far as singing louder or softer, do they have a sound system!? Sing at a comfortable level, choose your dynamics wisely!. If you aren't carrying over the group, hopefully they will work on the levels

I don't envy you and your group's new journey with each other, and at the same time, the group that I perform with has been together so long, it is always exciting when we add a new song to try out on our audience!.

This is a big deal!.!.!.good luck!.!.!.most of all have fun!.
