Question: Would this be a good way to give guitar lessons!?

Well ive been needing cash and im really good at guitar and figured ide do guitar lessons!.

the thing is i was going to teach people a song they wanted to learn and make em pay like a dollar or two(maybe more depending on the song) instead of teaching them the whole musical notes and all that stuff because i don't think all that's necessary!.

so would that be a good thing to do!?!? if not how should i teach people Www@QuestionHome@Com

At least not if you plan on advertising yourself as an actual guitar teacher!.

You can't call yourself a guitar teacher or say that you're teaching people to play unless you're ready, willing and able to teach "musical notes and all that stuff" -- because "all that stuff" that you think is unnecessary (probably because you yourself don't know it!) is ABSOLUTELY necessary to anyone who wants to actually master the guitar and play MUSIC, not just mechanically learn a couple of songs by rote!.

The mere fact that you don't think its useful or necessary indicates just how NOT ready you are to be a guitar teacher!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

you could do that but don't advertise yourself as a teacher, just do that to help your friends out if you want!. music theory is EXTREMELY important and if you are not familiar with it and are not even willing to teach it then you are not really prepared or in any way qualified to be a teacher!. so keep this idea it isn't bad but make it VERY clear that you are NOT a guitar teacher or else you will get some angry peopleWww@QuestionHome@Com
