Hi Ayan:

I think for 200 bucks or under, 2 amps come to mind!. The Epiphone Valve Jr, or, the Crate V18 212!. This is a single channel tube amp, 18 watts, with 2 12" speakers!. Im enclosing a link for this amp!.

http://www!.americanmusical!.com/Item--i-C!.!.!.

I recently purchased one of these amps, and was floored at the sound of this puppy!. While there are a lot better sounding amps AND tube amps on the market, you mentioned 200 bucks as the limit!.

At 18 watts, this amp is more than powerful enough to keep up with a drum set!. At a recent open mic night that I recently hosted with my band, this amp stayed on stage all night!. Other guitar players were bringing in 50-100 watt solid state amps, and the Crate was smoking them all!. While I bought this amp mainly for recording, this was a good opportunity to see what this amp would do in a live setting, and it didnt let me down!. I will add, im mainly a bass player, (40+years,) but also am no stranger to the guitar, as I have played guitar for over 20 years now!. This Crate amp really sounds good with pedals, and is suited for blues, classic and southern rock, and music along that lines!. Might not be the greatest amp for metal!.

I definately have to agree with Saul on the Line 6 amps too!. To me, they are just nothing but expenisive toys if you ever go to use them in a professional setting!. If all your going to do is play at home, want a ton of effects, and not have the greatest sound, it might be a way to go!.

By the way!.!. as far as tube amps go!.!.!. If you get the chance, listen to the original recording of Eric Claptons "Layla"!. His guitar tone on that was recorded using a FIVE WATT Fender tube amp!.

Hope this has helped, and KEEP PLAYIN!

That Epiphone Valve Jr is one of the best buys I've ever made!. I'm not going to say it sounds as good as my 1200$+ Mesa Boogie Tremoverb, but let's just say that for being less than 300$, it sounds pretty g!.d!. amazing!. Works great with a couple of pedals in front of it!. Of course, I got the head, so I'm plugging into various 300w guitar cabs, and my GOD can it get loud!

Kustom also makes an all tube amp under 200 dollars that I've heard some good things about!. I love how Kustom tube amps sound, they really have a great rock sound!.

I don't like Line 6, I think they sound cheap, digital, etc, but I'm a bit of a tone snob (I'm right, though)!. If you want something that's better than what you have and has some fx you can play around with, then it'll work!. An Epi with some pedals in front of it will slaughter it any day, both in quality of tone and in volume (just like my mesa has slaughtered every digital and solid state amp its ever come across!.!.!. and a bunch of the tube amps too!)!.

Well, I own a few amps, my favorite of all time are tube amps, they just sound like music, but you need to save up and get a real tube amp 40 -100watts especially if you are going to play in a band with a drummer who is loud!.
The best little practice amp I like is the
Crate flexwave15r

The FlexWave15R is a compact, two-channel 15-watt combo that FlexWave15R has a 12 in!. speaker with the closed-back cabinet,
Its a practice amp so it sounds good at low volumes, and it has reverb its a versitle little amp!. For $100 bucks online
"I know crate UHHH, I own a peavy classic 50 4x10- marshall avt 20- another great amp you can pick up used under $200!.00 and my all time favorite a vox ac15, and I still think this amp sounds great for the money!. also a rocktron v50d is alittle more then $200 but it has chorus and delay and is stereo, a full if not kinda 80's tone!. Line 6 has nice amps for under 200 bucks for very versatile too

They have epiphone tube amps with a head and cab for around 200 bucks or so only a volume though but its pure tube man, can get pedals if ya need to

Or your best bet man go to Guitar center, Sam ash, any local shop that will let you try amps and find one that SUITS YOU BEST and thats also under 200 bucks , I would recommend saving a bit more and get an amp you really like, Roland also has some nice amps

I got my Marshall AVT 50 its a hyrbird amp half tube half SolidState for a little less then 250 pretty happy with it

I still want a full tube amp, anyways hope thats give ya some ideas!.

Craigs List is good and pawn shops eh maybe(never know), TEST BEFORE YOU BUY!!! really check it out and make sure its good

Just another thing to mention what style are you aiming for that will have alot to do with the amp you want

Metal
Jazz
Blues
Rock
Country
Twang
the list goes on man, so determining what style and what you need like gain, EQ,reverb things of that nature will help you find the amp that fits you best!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pawn shops by nature suck unless you know your stuff and what pitfalls to look for!.

CL is definately the way to go!. Check out the ads, then google-fu for reviews for any you're unfamiliar with!.

The actual amp really depends on what you play!.

EDIT:

On the bad side with CL going into someone's home where the people look like your purchase is going to help furnish their next meal (I'm being serious) can make it a bit uncomfortable if the item isn't for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

few of the sub 200$ amps will be worth your time or money!. you will have to upgrade in no time and you will have an expensive doorstop!. But as mentioned amps like the valve Jr!. are great bare bones amps!. these are great if you already have a pedal or pedals that you like and achieve your sound fairly well!.

these low wattage tube amps are great except if you play with other musicians that are too dumb to turn it down!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Craigs list!.!.or Pawn America!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.u can usually find good ones for good prices!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
