Do you think when Germans sing in English they lose their accent!?
I still have an accent but I speak English fluently!.!. I would like to ask all non speaking Germans what you think of the English of this group which was a very famous pop group founded in 1984 and which split up in 2003!. Is that fairly good English!.!.!?

I think it's hard, in general, to be able to tell someone accents when they sing!. Sometimes I have difficultly determining a British/Australian/etc accent when I listen to music in English!. Sometimes I can't tell at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Guten Tag! There is this thing called Uni-English which is employed by singers from around the World especially the slick pop singers of the 70 s into the 90 s into now!. The very lack of an accent bespeaks of foreign origin!. Scrubbed well rehearsed phrasing intended to remove any hint of an accent!. Anyone unaware of their origins might think they were from England rather than Canada or especially America because of their phrasing and choice of words!. And factor in that everything was filtered through a recording engineer!. Knowing names, Anders and most especially Dieter Bohlen one would assume German or even Dutch (Bohlen tends to be North German)!. A good example though definitely harder hitting would be the Scorpions and the band UFO!.
My guestimatte on age would be in their late 20 s then and now mid forties most likely Bohlen is nudging 50 but most likely has aged more gracefully than Anders who relies on a heavy tan-bronzer that has most likely crinkled his skin!
As for your age - - - you have the wonderment & vitality of a child and I would hesitate to say that you are any older than 25 though by saying you are a contemporary of this group - - - I'll be polite and let you do the math!
As for European accents another good example is Golden Earing whose accents were 'air-brushed' out of their songs!.
