It depends on the person!. I find it a lot easier to play clarinet but that was also the first instrument I ever learned to play!. To me, clarinet range is really easy (until it gets really high) and the fingerings are simple!. I also had no problems with breathing but I also play tuba so to me putting air through clarinet is as hard as putting air through a straw!.

It just depends on what you want!. I suck at playing stringed instruments and have little hands so I found guitar to be difficult!.!.!.I could never remember all of the ways to finger notes and chords!.

Research information about the two!. What type of music do you want to play!? Where do you want to go with this!? Ie: if you're wanting to play rock music in a band, clarinet obviously isn't the one to pick!. Which do you like the sound of better!? Do you want to play a wind or a string instrument!? Weight out what you want and figure out which instrument would be best for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would probs say that guitar is easier!. clarinet is a more diverse instrument however, and you can get a higher range!. If you're going for a casual, laid-back fun instrument, which you can have sing-song with, go for guitar!. If you are serious about music, and want to learn an instrument seriously, and are prepared to put in practise, then I would say clarinet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Believe it or not, I played both the clarinet and guitar!. Both were fun, but with a guitar you can sort of practice on your own and come up with different cords, and sounds, etc!. With the clarinet, you pretty much have to play the music as written or it just sounds squeaky and out of tune!. If you have the time, try both and see which you prefer!. Selecting an instrument is something that each individual must do!. To learn an instrument that someone else thinks is cool or easy is a big mistake!. If you are not excited about your choice, your success looks poor!. You must listen to the instruments and make your own decisions!. Most have a limited view of each instrument!. cool, i had to make this exact same choice 2 years back, and I picked the clarinet because it was rather different, and i was already playing a stringed instrument, but trust me, guitar is so much easier, breathing when it comes to the clarinet is intense!Www@QuestionHome@Com
