The combination of metals in your flute are turning it the orangish / goldish color that you see!. I have seen flutes tarnish brown - black - and green !!
Do not use baking soda on your instrument as it is a bit abrasive and will cause tiny scratches!. You can use the creamy silver polish that you buy at the jewelry store with a very soft cloth but take care not to slosh it on as it might come into contact with the key pads and then you will be in trouble!. also if you are wanting to get into those tiny areas between the keys!.!.!. you might use Q-tips just slightly moisened with a tiny bit of polish!.

When you are finished polishing with the cream!.!.!. go back over your flute with a clean and soft cotton cloth to wipe away any remaining finger prints!. After each use!.!.!. wipe your flute with the clean dry soft cloth!. You will see a lot less tarnish if you wipe off your flute every day!.

hope that helps!.

You don't even have to take the flute with you!.
They most likely have a cleaner for a few bucks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
