Even though you may not have the first chair flute spot!.!.!. usually the band director sits the piccolo player in the chair in front of the 1st chair flute player!. At other times, the director may sit the piccolo in the last chair after the last flute player!. Depends on the projection and sound he is going for!.

Hope that helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Usually between the clarinet and the flutes in the front!. But it also depends what chair you are on the flute!. In my wind ensemble the piccolo switches around, so sometimes the first chair plays, and sometimes i play, and we both stay in the same seat!. but it's usually like RIGHT in front of the conductor D: Www@QuestionHome@Com

Right next to the flutes!. Though in our band we usually had a person who switched between flute and piccolo!. She would keep her flute on her lap while she played piccolo and then pick up the flute when needed!. It really depends on the band!. Ours is pretty small for our size school!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
