It depends on your level!. My teacher planned and performed in recitals that approached fourty-five minutes to an hour and fifteen minutes long!. For our studio class, we had a joint recital that lasted about an hour, which included ten to twelve different performers (our entire studio class)!. For high school recitals (if you don't have a private instructor), I would not exceed an hour!. If you do have an instructor, you should consult that person!. Whichever, do not play for any longer than you are comfortable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My Master's degree recital was 15 songs!. My sophomore recital was Frauenliebe und Leben, six songs, about 20 minutes!.

Your teacher should be helping you plan your recital now!. Basically at a minimum you'll want a Baroque piece, a Classical piece, a Romantic piece and a 20th-century piece!.

My student recitals range anywhere from 10 minutes for the primary schoolers to two hours for the very advanced students!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
