Question: I have just started to teach myself acoustic guitar and need help!!?
I have begun to teach myself acoustic guitar but I don't know where to start!. I have also bought a 0!.75mm pick!. Is this the right kind of pick and what should I learn first!? also, should I also have a strap for the guitar!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would recommend start by learning the standard chords A, B, C, D, E, F, G and simply strumming them and work on changing chords!. There are many songs out there with only a few chords to help you work on chord changes!. Once you are used to making and changing chords you can explore other things like working on your picking, fingerpicking, other strumming patterns!.

I wouldn't worry about a strap right now you can sit down while you play and rest it on your lap!. As far as picks I prefer one that flexes when I play!. I feel I have more control over the actual tension I put on the strings!. I recommend buying a few different sizes and use whatever feels the best to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What ever you decide, get some instruction from a live person paid or free, but where they can see and hear your progress!. That is the only way that mistakes are going to be caught early before they become serious or discouraging problems!. The use of web sites is a bonus, but not the way improve your skills and definitely not the way to begin!.!.

It's easier to play sitting down!. Strap not required yet!. 0!.75mm is a teeny bit thick but OK for a beginner!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
