You will develop calluses over time!.
Calluses protect your finger tips and are caused by the friction and rubbing!. They are not pretty, but they will stop your fingers hurting so much!.
Some people swab their finger tips with alcohol to encourage growth of calluses!. There are callus creams available over the counter for those who want to grow them fast!. You can also buy a keyring of heavy plastic with raised bumps shaped like strings allows guitarists to keep up the pressure even when they're not playing (with a quick Google search I found the Ruff Rider Ruff Grip Callus Builder)!. This encourages calluses to grow and prevents them from falling off!. Others prefer to just protect the skin with fake calluses made with a bit of superglue while they wait for the real calluses to form!.

While you are waiting for the skin to toughen, you can put a light coat of clear finger nail polish on the fingers and then baby powder!. I used to do this before playing a 5 hour gig!.
Back then it was called tough skin and came in a spray can for athletes to put on hands or feet!. You still see the use of powder for a lubricant in gymnastics, weight lifting etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've been a cellist for 9 years, and a bassist for 5!. It's common for your fingers to hurt, but it's building up calis!. You'll get used to it, and after a few months, you won't feel a thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You seem to have the same problem guitarists have, I used to dip my fingers in methylated spirits to help toughen them up, now I have calloused fingertips!.!.!.!.it takes time!.!.!.!.no quick fix sorry!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

squirt a dab of superglue on your fingertips, it will peel off in a few daysWww@QuestionHome@Com
