until i can finally get a set and i want to be in a band but im just now starting to learn guitar and hopefully drums im 13, is it to late!? and does any one know any sic guitar and drum players that started at 13 and taught themselves!?Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: I didn't start until I was 18 and am completely self-taught!. Well, I asked a lot of questions and I asked a lot of people I knew who played guitar for advice, and I jammed with as many people as I could!. Being in a band really helps focus you on what you need to improve on, too, just like recording yourself!. You'll be just fine!. I keep hearing this!.!.!. why would anyone ever think it's too late!? Too late to play guitar on the disney channel, maybe!.!.!. As long as you don't get into drugs and eff up your life like I did for a few years, with regular practice you should be able to pick up the basics in 6 months, be able to play decently at 1 year, and be pretty decent within 2!. The hardest part is practicing regularly, and learning how to challenge yourself!. Ha, in the end everything comes down to motivation! SaulWww@QuestionHome@Com In the beginning when I started on drums!. I was 16, with no job, no drum set & no money!. So I made a organic drum kit of Folger Coffee Cans, some books, a Film Reel and a cheap Hi Hat stand to use until a I got a real one 2 years later!. And I used a tape player to play along to songs!.!.!.!.remember this was back in 1986 when this happened!. You can also check out free "how to play drums" books at your local library too!. I've done it before too!. They come with CDS too so you can listen to the notes You guys are lucky to have Youtube "how to play music" vids to cheat with!!! LOL No, 13 isn't too late to learn drums!. I started guitar at 15!.!.!.then it got stolen!.!.!.!.then I went to drums a year later!. Until you get a real set!.!.!.you can use a Practice pad and a pair of drum sticks!.
