Question: Buying violin online!?
I'm looking to purchase a cheap but playable violin to practice on!. I'm not looking for a high name brand that I will keep for years as I am not a professional, and I was looking at ebay and found a store that has some!. http://stores!.ebay!.com/Instruments-R-Us

What is your -honest- opinion about buying a violin off ebay!? Remember I'm only looking for below or average quality, but then again I'm not looking for something absolutely horrible that will make my ears bleed!. Thanks guys! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If the feedback is good, its probably alright, just be careful as to not get scammed!.

You can always tune it and change the strings to make it sound better, a practice instrument is not nearly as important as one to perform with really!.!.!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I looked at the website you mention!.
If you want to hang it on the wall for decoration, OK
If you want to play it forget it!.
Fingerboard and pegs should always be of ebony!.
Anything else is likely to warp!. Pegs of ebony are much easier to tune!.
I have bought violins off ebay and was satisfied!. I usually spent $125 - $150!.
a $50 violin from ebay a no no!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure about buying instruments online, it might be used!.!. And there must be a reason why they sell it!. (maybe damaged or bad quality!?) What about just try in stores!? They are unused and you can check the instrument in real-life but i guess eBay is ok but your a beginner, right!? Then it's fine!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd stay away from Ebay!. A lot of people like the GEWA's:
