Question: When I play an octave on my high e string (on electric guitar), it's almost a half step too low!?
What would be causing this!? Is the neck warped!? If it were, wouldn't effect more than just the one string!? The others aren't low at all!.!.!.Would it be that I just need new strings!? I haven't gotten new ones since I got the guitar, which was forever ago!.!.!.Thank you in advance for you help/suggestions!. =DWww@QuestionHome@Com

You intonation needs to be adjusted!. You do not have to go to a guitar shop to get it done!. All you need is a tuner and a screwdriver!.

http://www!.expertvillage!.com/video/20392!.!.!.

look at this page, it has a bunch of videos on how to do it!.

It's really quite simple!. Do it for all your strings, after you buy a new set and also if you change string gauges!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If the string is a new one, then the distance between bridge and nut is too long!.
Shorten the string length by moving the saddle towards the nut!.
If this doesn't work then you need to have a techie look at your truss rod, to check you neck straightnessWww@QuestionHome@Com

It's probably that you high e string saddle needs adjusted (moved forward in this case)!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

The bridge may be off-center a bit!. Have a qualified technician at your local music store adjust it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

old string!.!.!. as well as stretched string!. will throw off intonation!. plus intonation not set right when strings were new!. get it set up at a shopWww@QuestionHome@Com
