Question: About how much does a bass clarinet mouthpiece cost!?
I know it probably depends on where you go, but I really need to know to be able to use my school's bass clarinet!. A price range would be just fine too!

Remember, you get what you pay for!. The least expensive mouthpieces are made from plastic!. The better and more expensive ones are made from hard rubber!. The hard rubber mpc's are ground to fine tolerances in regards to the tip and the flare of the opening, whereas plastic mpc's are simply molded!. Hard rubber also gives a warmer sound than plastic!. If you live near a music store that sells them, they may have some available for trying out!. The more expensive mouthpieces will make your playing easier, too!. Don't forget to get a quality ligature, while you're at it!.

Bottom line: $30 or so for the plastic, and $50 and up for hard rubber!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mouthpiece Express is one of my favorite places to get a mouthpiece online!. http://www!.mouthpieceexpress!.com/catalog!.!.!.

Brilhart - about $25 (these are Conn-Selmer)
Yamaha - about $31-35
Selmer USA - about $30-50 (these are Conn-Selmer)
Selmer Paris - about $130
Vandoren - about $120

Of course, the Selmer Paris and Vandoren are the better quality but a good Yamaha will do most school band members just fine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i use my schools bass clarinet too (even though i have my own) and i bring my mouth piece back and forth!. its a J D Hite and my private lesson teacher, band conductor, and the guy that refurbished my used clarinet all recommended it!. If ur going to quit band in the next few years, get a cheaper one, but if you're gonna stick w/ bass clarinet through high school, get a good one, its worth it!. mine was $80Www@QuestionHome@Com

I just checked on the Woodwind, Brasswind web site!. Theirs range from $30 to $600!.
