The better and more expensive ones are made from hard rubber!. The hard rubber mpc's are ground to fine tolerances in regards to the tip and the flare of the opening, whereas plastic mpc's are simply molded!. Hard rubber also gives a warmer sound than plastic!. If you live near a music store that sells them, they may have some available for trying out!. The more expensive mouthpieces will make your playing easier, too!. Don't forget to get a quality ligature, while you're at it!.
