Question: I just cant seem to find the sound of a acoustic guitar that I like!?( who can help me)!?
I never had a guitar where I loved the sound, and a guitar that I could always keep and never replace it unless it was the same guitar!. I've spent a lot of money on acoustic guitars, but I end up not liking the sound of any of them!. I really like the warm, rich tone, but I just cant seem to find one or I am unsure about buying one!. I am looking to spend 300 dollars!. Can anyone help me or reccomend a guitar that you like, and the sound is angelic to you!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

not for $300, could be the problemWww@QuestionHome@Com

You won't get anything decent for under $1000!. You're paying for quality, it's that simple!.

Guitars for under that, will have been designed for beginners!.

If you're having problems with finding the right acoustic guitar, you could always try an electric guitar fitted with a piezo!. You'd be amazed just how good they sound!.

OR! There's a company called Applause, who work closely with Ovation Acoustic Guitars!. The Applause range are AMAZING, I used to have one, before I got my $5000 Ovation, and the tone was SUBLIME!. Check them out, before giving up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For me it has always been a decent Spanish classical guitar (made in Spain is important!. I'd recommend Admira)!. I bought the most expensive one in the shop for no more than £250 (England) and I love it!.

The sound on a classic can be made to alter from a twanging high treble at the bridge to a warm rich timbre when played at the twelfth fret (round about)!.

These sounds can also be modified by placing the side of the strumming/picking hand across the bridge!.

The best steel string guitar I've come across has to be the Ovation!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You were replacing those guitar's strings on a regular basis with quality strings, right!? Strings are an important part of the equation!.!.!.

Most of the great sounding guitars I've heard are well over the 300$ mark!. You obviously want a nice, high quality guitar!. Unfortunately, you'll have to settle for what is available to you or you'll have to save up!.

I think you will want a solid-wood guitar to get those kinds of tones, and they start somewhere between 400-600 us$!.

I've used a Fender NAT-1 which I think is the product number, for quite a few years!. It's a decent guitar, but it's decidedly treble in character!. I don't think it's the strings I'm using (Elixirs), and it has a pretty decently sized body!.

It is possible that hunting down the right strings may help!. Start asking around - you want the roundest/warmest set of strings!. I'm not sure if they make guitar strings flat-wound, but if so then nickel flatwound strings would be ideal!.!.!. should be very warm and smooth vs trebly like most steel strings!.

I suppose it's possible that googling how to smooth out your acoustics' tone might help, or even better asking a luthier if there's anything that can be done!. For cheaper acoustics, almost certainly nothing or I would have heard about it by now!. =)

Oh yeah, one thing I forgot!.!.!. the type of pick you use matters, too!. Plastic picks will always give a bit of a "plastic" sound!. While you probably can't afford a tortoiseshell pick, try using a type of material other than plastic - wood, for instance, should give a warmer sound, ie, less of an attack!.

I've tried Ovations, I'm not wild about them!. My favorite acoustic brand is Takamine!.!.!. I like them more than Martins, and I've heard some very nice Martins!.
