Alto sax mouthpiece and lig?

Question: Alto sax mouthpiece and lig!?

I started playing alto sax a couple of months ago, and I would like to purchase a mouthpiece and ligature!. I have been using the generic ones they give you when you rent a sax, so I was thinking it would probably help me if I got better ones!. I will be playing a wide variety of music in my high school band!. Which ones would you recommend for a relative beginner!? I am looking to spend around $50 each!. Thanks!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's very difficult to recommend mouthpieces and ligatures, as they're very personal and what works for one person may not work for another!. I'd suggest going down to a local music store and asking to try some different mouthpiece and ligature setups - play each mouthpiece with each ligature and see what you like, and you should be able to find a combination which works for you!Www@QuestionHome@Com
