Question: Is playing two notes( like two strings) at the same time harmful to bass amps!?
In other words if i play the high string and low string at the same time, will the contrasting frequencies mess up the amp or will the amp take and process both into one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!.

It may sound kind of muddy when you play two low notes together, because the speakers (and your eardrums) aren't very agile at low frequencies!.

But, if there is some distance separating the low note and the high note, the chord will sound great!. One of the most commonly used bass chords is a major 10th!.

For example, to play an E10th chord, finger the E string on the 12th fret and the G string on the 13th fret!. Listen to the intro of Steely Dan's "Peg" to hear Chuck Rainey use this!.

No, it is definitely not harmful to the amp!. The amp will project both frequencies, but that will neither 'mess up' the amp or process both frequncies into one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO, our bass player does that all the time with no ill affects to his amp!. He is a pro bassist for 30+ yrs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
