Question: Please Help!? Tips on how to teach a beginner the viola!!!!?!?!?!?

OK, So iv been playin the viola fr about 5yrs now, and my neihbor who is 10 asked me to teach her some things so she can participate in the school orchestra!. About a week ago i taught her positioning and how to bow!. She doesnt have any musical experiences!. What should i teach her so that i dont confuse her!? I cant realy teach her how to play a song bc she doesnt know how to read music!. Should i just go over position and start on where to place your fingers!?

If you still have your beginning book, get it out and work one line at a time!.
If not either go to the music store for a viola method book I, or wait until she gets assignments from school!.
You will be a great help to her!. Don't rush her!.

yes telling her about finger position is very good to start with
teach her slowly about reading notes
then slowly about how to play them
tell her to practice those notes until the next time you see her
slowly work ur way into songs
