Question: How should i structure a drum lesson for a student who has absolutely no musical experience or knowledge!?
This is my first student and im in yr 10!. I do not know how i shoul start the first lesson to get him understanding the structure of music and how everything works!. I want to get him interested early as that would be ideal!. Have him buy a metronome and a set of drum sticks and tell him to come back when he can use the drum sticks to keep time to the metronome!.!.!. that way you will know if he at LEAST has any natural rhythm

A drummer who can't keep time is about the most worthless musician I can imagine and he won't be poplar with any group!.!.!. so keeping time is the most important thing and you need to know if he can do that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
