Listen to Natalie Cole or other such artist!. You have to listen to a lot of jazz solo!. The trick is to sing the lead part to get the feeling of the phrasing used, and the different technique that the voice can do!. For instance, bending a note etc!.!.!.!.
Jazz singers use a lot of slurs so that they can fall on the tempo much easier!.
Always be natural!. Listen to Diana Krull!. Her voice is hers!. NO imitation , no copying!. It's her style and belongs to her!. Mind you, she doesn't have such a great voice but the feeling, the sexiness in it is enouugh!. She sings on key, has a great sense of harmony and perfect timing!. I really don't know what exactly, being a bass, but what you should do is go on youtube and watch videos of people singing this jazzy style and try to immatate it!. it seems like what your trying to do won't come easy, just tlike anything else in music!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need to listen to a lot of jazz, both instrumental and vocal!. The biggest thing is getting the style down, then develop a sound!. Check out artist like Billie Holliday, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, and Sarah Vaughn!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
