We got a used violin with no stamping anywhere inside of it, or outside!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
a "full-size" or 4/4 violin is about 14 inches , A 3/4 violin is about 13 inches and a 1/2 size is approximately 12 inches
This is measuring only the body of the violin not the neck!.
As to who made it, I would have to see it and most likely would still not be able to tell you!. Most well know makers are proud of their instruments and label them well!.
Enjoy what you have and don't worry about who made it!.

That happens sometimes; I had a very good instrument like that, an "orphan," so to speak!. If the local luthiers don't recognize the maker, all you can do is try to trace the ownership back through the past!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

check the head stock sometimes there is a mark or carving to identify !. if not as long as it plays and sounds good enjoy Www@QuestionHome@Com
