Question: Why do I sound like crap when I play in a practice room!?
I play trumpet, and when i'm in a practice room or even if i play really close to a music stand, my tone sounds all airy and nasty!.!. but when i play in a big hall or outdoors when i march it sounds great! trust me i don't suck!.!.i'm 5th chair honors!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I suspect that you are over blowing!. A few of my brass players really have problems with balance!. They have always been expected to play with power!. I usually have to tone them down as they warm up before rehearsal!.

I think the room is the distraction or maybe you can't concentrate coz of the room but i really think the room is the problem!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
