It looks like the Chinese two-string fiddle called an Er-Hu!. The bow runs between the 2 strings, so it is attached to the fiddle!. It is played vertically, and in the hands of an expert is as versatile as the Western violin!. I saw the chinese group Sweet Doll East play them a few years ago, and they were awesome!.
