use natural light!. it is the best lighting out there!. always make sure the light source is behind the person taking the pic, unless side lighting or other types of lighting are desired!. do not use flash unless needed!. in that case the camera should only use flash if not enough light enters the diaphragm of the camera!. the simpler the setup, the more comfortable and relaxed the subject is!. the finished product really depends on how well the photographer worked with the subject!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The best way to get an awesome headshot of yourself is not to take it yourself!. Get someone else to do it!. Have a friend or relative take the picture!. Here are some suggestions:

Wear something YOU like on yourself; casual or more dressy!.!. just something nice!.!.!. as a headshot you don't see much beyond the neck, but you should wear something with a collar or if not a collar wear a nice necklace!.

Don't wear too much make up!.!.!. make it natural with a little mascara, blush and lip gloss!.

Hair should be pulled away from your face and out of your eyes!.

Do not stand with your body facing the camera; more at a 45 degree angle and turn face to the camera!. - you don't want it to look like a police mug shot!.

If you are using flash, turn on the red-eye reduction!.!.!. you don't want those spooky eyes in your photo!.

Take your picture outside under a tree in the shade!. This way you don't have to use the flash for a nice shot!.

Try a few expressions!. One smiling, one not smiling, one with a slight smile or closed mouth smile, one with mouth slightly open, but not smiling!. Just try different things and shoot 20-30 pictures!. This way you will have lots to choose from!.

i just got mine done just make sure you look real like the way you look in real life!. try different faces in the mirror to see which ones look the best!.

wear a simple pattern like a plain shirt!. dont wear a sleeve less shirt!.

make your makeup look natural, like browns and golds!.!.!.

then find a plain backround or something that matchs what you are wearing!.

then i would ask your friend or your mom to help take the pictures because its hard to take a good picture of your self!.
