The Voodoo Sparkledrive is a good overdrive pedal!. I'm not sure how much gain you're looking for, but this is a very nice sounding pedal no matter what!. At 150$, it's the most expensive pedal I've listed!.

The Ibanez Tubescreamer is a classic for blues and blues rock, especially soloing!.

The Boss SD-1 should also do nicely!. Boss makes a number of different distortion pedals, you should try a few to see what they do for you!. Boss pedals have a good reputation for being extremely well made and very durable!.

Finally, the Digitech Bad Monkey is another overdrive that I've played through!. It's okay, it wasn't for me though!.

As with any gain device, putting an EQ before and/or after it will help you customize the sound you get!.

It depends on what sort of sound youre after!. My suggestion would be behringer (I think thats how its spelt)!. It also depends on how much you want to spend the behringer is quite expensive but is worth it!.
