No, you do not sing awfully and I think perhaps you may be exaggerating whatever comment or criticism that came from your teacher!. You do have a melodious and gifted voice along with a good ear for pitch!. You do show promise and potential as a vocalist and musician and perhaps your music teacher was trying to get something across to you and had to do it in an unflattering way to get your attention!. Listen to him/her and try not to take their instructive advice personally!. I once had a teacher (trumpet) who was actually brutal like a Marine Corps drill instructor!. But it was during these times that I strove to work harder for him because I respected him both as a musician and teacher and I wanted to please him by showing him that I could do what he demanded of me!.

What I'm trying to say is, don't be hurt or let your pride get in the way because a really good teacher knows how to push the right buttons to motivate you into becoming all that you can be as a musician whether it be as an instrumentalist or a vocalist!. God bless you my dear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Thanks for putting this out there!.
You have a good foundation!.

I would guess that your music teacher's concern was that you seem most comfortable singing in you speaking range and chest voice!.There was also some nasality when you tried for higher pitches!.

All of those are fixable with good coaching!. My concern is that if what you took from your music teacher is that you don't sing well you might need to find a new voice coach!. It is okay if it takes a while to find the right fit!. The right coach makes a ton of different and when I say right I mean right for you!. Learn the more technical (I am not just talking theory) of singing such as breath support, etc!. Learn about how your voice works so you can best use it!.

My biggest piece of advice!.!.!.explore different types of music not just country!. As a classically trained sing I do all kind of music not just classical and it makes me a better singer!.

Best Wishes

You got an amazing voice,

It's things like that where I wish I can sing or have the voice of people like Ne-Yo or J Holiday!.

By the way,
You kinda have the voice of Mila Kunis from That 70's Show!. But don't let anyone else tell you any different!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well to be honest: I think the tone of your voice is very nice, but lacks musicality!. Like the others said, you have potential!. Your music teacher probably thinks you lack important skills!. Those will come as long as you commit!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have a great voice!. It's VERY pop, which is not a bad thing!. Your voice teacher is probably just into more classical stuff!.

You might be even better when you're singing with accompaniment!. I've noticed that most people are!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
