Question: Playing the guitar!?!?

i do not know NOTHING about playing the giutar and i want to learn!?!? how long does it take!? does anyne know any website that i can go to that is really good and wil help me on learning how to play or on you tube what do i put because the videos i already saw they dont really get to me!?!? something that doesnt require lessons that i have to pay for!! thanks:)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nothing beats personal lessons, but hey these help

Ultimate-guitar!.com also has "Tabs" which means it tells you the fret number and the strings for songs!.!.!.!.!.

also don't try playing "Stairway To Heaven" at first!. Start out with something like "Smoke on the Water", "Bulls On Parade", or other Songs with riffs that are easy, but sound good too so you aren't discouraged!. A lot of songs sound harder than what they really are so check them out!. Here are some basic tips before starting anything

Learn the string names!.!.!.!.

From the lowest string to the highest they go

E
A
D
G
B
E

For bass guitar it is the first four!.!.!.!.

I remember the strings by E then B Then G'Day - it sounds like G'Day if you say it

Next, tune the guitar!.

If you don't have a tuner do it this way

The open (nothing pushed down on the string) lowest "E" string is the same as the 5th fret of the "A"!. This continues for the rest of the strings like the open "A" is the 5th fret pushed down on the "D"

After your guitar is tuned get used to strumming!. Use your thumb at first to get the feeling of moving your wrist up and down then use a pick!.!.!.!.

After this go to one of the above listed sites and learn a song!.

Don't be mad if you can't get it at the beginning just keep trying!.
