Nerves are normal!. Everyone gets a bit nervous!. It happens when you are not prepared or you are worried about making a mistake and what people will think!. It also means that you care about how well you do!.

If you practice to the point that you know the music very well, then that part of the nerves will go away!. As far as mistakes go, everyone makes those too!. Even the professionals!. Most people that are listening to the music, don't know that you made a mistake unless you make a funny face, shake your head, and or stop and say "rats" or something like that!. You are singing in front of people who like you and care for you!. Enjoy what you are doing, and the nerves will help you with the energy in performing any piece!.

I play bass and feel I'm an okay bassist, but I play with confidence and "get into" the music!. People think I'm really good too!. Boy do I have them fooled!. lol

ha! I know how you feel!. I was auditioning to get into a senior choir but my voice just couldn't reach those notes!.

You probably haven't sung in front of loads of people like that or you havn't prepared properly!. Just sing in front of anyone who is willing to listen to you & eventually you'll get better!.

When I sing in church it's not to bad!. I don't know whether you are a really devoted christian but I suppose God' guiding you!. Just think that you're doing this for him and be you'll ok

Oh, and eat toffee beforehand it seems to calm people down!. =SWww@QuestionHome@Com

Because you are not convinced that you will do a good job!.
