Question: How can I convince my parents to get me a violin and take lessons!?
I've always wanted to play the violin!.!.ever since I was 9!. I'm 14 years old now, and I've asked time and time again! They signed me up for piano lessons (against my will) and forced me to take it! Now that I'm not taking piano anymore, I really feel like violin is my passion! It's on my ipod constantly, It's my computer background, and I really want to play!!! HELP!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Have they said why they don't want to get you a violin and lessons!?

Is it possible that they're afraid you won't stick with it because you dropped out of piano lessons!?

Tell them that you quit piano because you don't like piano, but you LOVE violin and will attend lessons and practice faithfully because its what you really want to do!. Promise that you won't let violin practice get in the way of your schoolwork (that has to come first, you know), and that your grades will stay where they are now, or get better, if you can study violin!. Agree that if your grades drop because you're spending too much time fiddling, they can take the violin away until you bring your grades back up!.

Hope those arguments make a difference with your parents!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tell them it's a low initial investment!. You can rent a violin for about $20 a month at most music stores, and get lessons for less than that a week!. Don't ask them to buy you a violin now; you've never played one and you don't know what to look for!. Rent one for a few months first!. And tell them you can get a mute for the strings that will keep them from having to listen to you play (because someone learning the violin is one of the most annoying sounds ever)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

man, i feel very sorry for you!. but i am gonna help you play the violin!. there is a couple of ways and the choice is yours!.

choice 1!. go on a strike!. do not talk to them unless the situation calls for it!. do not look happy in front of them!. and when they suggest something that you would love or love to do(example: go for ice cream or go to your favorite restaurant) then say no!. never ask them for anything that you want or need(example: if your friend asks for you to go over to their house to play, say no to your parents and tell your friend that your sorry and cant!.) and do not act different(or the same) untill your wants are met!.

choice 2!. constantly ask for it!. ask during dinner, during the morning, before you go to bed!. everywhere!. everytime!. everyplace!. and give good reasons for you to play!. tell them sales on the violin, and tell them about great composers of the violin!. tell them that you would never quit your lessons and that you will practice every day!.

choice 3!. this choice is actually the easiest!.!.!.and the most hardening!. make a deal with them!. tell them that they can take your allowance until the violin is paid off and the lessons or something like that!. say that you wont go out with your friends for a while or that you wont play on your computer or electronics or that you wont watch your show on tv for a month or something!. make up your own deal if you want!.

those are just three choices that will probably work!. and if one doesnt work then go to another!. there are 3 choices so that will keep your parents occupied for a while!. but if these dont work, then do something yourself!. hope i helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow that is a tough one!.
I don't know your parents, or why they do not want you to play violin!.
It might help if you seriously ask them why they don't want you to play!.
You won't change there minds with arguments, you have to prove you are serious!. Let them see your interest, They can't hear what you want to do when you are using earphones!.
If they have definite reasons, then come back to us with those!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

it can get you a scholarship!.improve your iq!.and if lessons are after school and parents work you wont be home alone!.one of my friends takes violin and it helped her in all three ways!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
