Well, it's not completely hopeless if you're dedicated enough!.
It's true that as children, we tend to be better at picking up instruments!.!.!. but the same can be said for those who have a real desire to learn it!. If your friend is willing to practice/put in effort!.!.!. well, true passion for it is all you need :)

It's useful to remember that a little background information on musical theory can do wonders to help your understanding of an instrument!.!.!. so if he wants, he could look into learning a bit about that as well!.

Hope this helps, and good luck! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, it's not hopeless at all but it will help if he has some natural rhythmic ability!. It is harder to learn to read music for an adult (at least I think so) so if he has problems with it, there are other methods (such as learning just the chord positions & scales)!. Reading music is a plus but there are a lot of fine musicians who don't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Never hopeless!.!.!.I didn't begin learning Irish harp until I was 26; I learned from scratch, with no previous musical training!. I taught myself to play, and how to read music, and learned what I could of theory and technique!. 16 years later I have a pretty good career, because I wanted it and worked to make it so!. If one has enough willpower and dedication, one can learn anything at any age!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It all depends on how much time you want to devote to an instrument!. Its true that some people aren't meant to play but they might be better off with another instrument Just know that it will get frustrating but the more and more you play, the better you will get!. If at all possible get a dvd/book or maybe some lessons!. Thats what I did!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Of course you can start! it's going to be a little at the beginning but trust me it's all worth it!. You sound like a person that is eager to learn!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think it's hopeless, but you do need to put in time to practice!.there are many people who started to sing and learn to dance in later years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not at all hopeless!. I taught myself banjo starting around age 31 and taught myself fiddle by ear starting when I was about 33!.

With motivation and discipline, it CAN be done!Www@QuestionHome@Com

if he wants to learn ,he can ; and there is no such thing as hopeless or too late,!.!.!.!.it is about the love of music and the desire to learnWww@QuestionHome@Com

there is no age to learn anything
your learning depends only and only upon you passion for the subject, not you age
wish you all the best!Www@QuestionHome@Com
