Question:

i have a gibson epoch and it is $hit!. the epoch has no tone, it cant palm mute at all
so my question is: is the starcaster by fender also horrible!? (if not i may get one) , i have a digitech distortion pedal, but please compare the 2 guitars and give your feed back

i have played guitar for about 2 years now i can play:

To be honest, the Fender starcaster won't be much of an improvement!. Since you play a lot of rock and alternative, I would recommend getting a guitar with humbucker pickups, so it can better handle distortion without feedback!. Since the starcaster goes for about 200$, I would recommend getting a guitar that is not in a pack, just a guitar!. Buy the amp separately!. Make sure you go to a store and try them out though!. also, if you can invest money into a new amp, your tone will improve!. I recommend getting a Roland Microcube amp!.
