No, actually being that portly tends to restrict the diaphragm a bit and makes breath support trickier!.

The big thing to having a big voice is proper coaching on breath support and placement!. More height/weight proportionate guys like Carreras and Domingo, after all, were able to keep up with Luciano!. You need to keep a voice coach (like all professionals, including the Three Tenors, have done for most of their careers) who can adjust your placement so that you're getting full resonance from all of your head, throat and chest!.

It does help to be born with a really big vocal mechanism!. However, when I had to be scoped, the doctor told me that mine is smallish--but I manage to get a big voice anyhow!. Resonance!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ok!.!.!.!.!. The fact is!.!.!. Pavarotti was large for the last part of his career!. For the first part, he was an average size guy!.!.!. and from video I have recently seen on PBS!.!.!.!. he was pretty HOT!! Size does not make someone talented and Pavarotti was a huge success when he was younger and smaller!.

yes, lots of opera singers seem to be big but i dont think that medically it has been shown that the bigger you are the bigger you can belt out the tunes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can be skinny and sing opera but traditionally larger people are quite good!. You need huge lungs but not a huge belly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not at all it has to do with how you can control your breathing and stomach musclesWww@QuestionHome@Com
