Question: My boyfriend has no confidence in me!!?
I love to sing and act but my boyfriend has no confidence at all in my talents!. Friends and strangers have said that I'm good at singing and acting but my boyfriend seems to think differently!. He's never heard me sing or act before!. I was going to go down to San Fran to audition for American Idol but he discouraged it because I haven't taken voice lessons!? Is he right!? I think there are perfectly fine singers out there that haven't taken voice lessons though I'm sure lessons couldn't hurt!. I think it mostly comes down to me wanting his support!.!.!.what do you think!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

If he hasn't heard you, how would he know!?

If you think you're good enough, then that's the confidence you need! If others think you're good enough, then that's the second opinion you need! (because honestly, somtimes there are people on American Idol who think they are greattt but just are not! =[ ) But if people are telling you you are good, then go for it! Why not!?

Maybe he is right about the voice lessons, though!. If you have the time, resources, and money, lessons could probably help you out alot, helping your voice, and giving him more confidence in your dreams!. (Although he should already believe in you! haha!. Maybe ask him to help with the bill if he's so keen on you taking them)

You are correct that there are some great singers on that show and everywhere who havent taken lessons, but the people who get through to the finals have probably been trained!. Maybe not, but it really does make you a better performer!.

Talk to him about this being a serious dream of yours, and in a serious realtionship, he should support you!. And then show him the bill for the voice lessons he requested you take!!

Best of luck, remember your opinion matters the most!Www@QuestionHome@Com
